Crowd sourcing for a through hiking piece for trail runners.

Hey runner friends, I'm putting together a piece to run (hopefully) on the Trailrunner magazine website about takeaways from our PCT through hike. In the interest of making it, well, interesting, I'd love your input.

Very basically, runners, what would you like to know about through hiking?

There must not be many runners that want to slow down and do a through hike.

How do you deal with hygiene and getting past the reality of not having a warm shower every night to clean off the day's hard work?
