America smiling through clenched teeth

Following up on that last post, there was a great opinion piece in the Seattle Times today by Danny Westneat, one of their regular columnists. It was a sort of state of the union address, pointing towards the disillusionment so many of us Americans seem to feel in regards to our nation of origin. Sad, yet hopeful.
