Today I want to be an urban hippie.

Maybe it's the month of 60-70 hour weeks and no free weekends speaking, but today I'm really interested in the idea of Angel and I cutting back our employed hours to a minimum, living simply and responsibly, stopping trying to get ahead, and focusing on developing the community we live in. I want to put some work hours into fixing up the co-op building, learn how to tend the garden, get to know my neighbors, sell the car, start walking, biking or busing everywhere, take a long Greyhound or Amtrak trip, try to write a book-- anything to get out of the rat race. Another 2-3 years and 25-40k in school bills is looking less and less appealing, and paying off the present debts and working for the man less is looking more and more appealing. Just stop me if I start talking about eating out of the trash...

Maybe Whole Foods will donate some food to me, since I'm so deeply impoverished.
