Rowan Williams on the Sacramentality of Sex

I haven't read it yet, but you can here. Happy Good Friday.

Dear Rowan,

I like your thoughts. Characteristically diplomatic and profound. I'm struck by the idea that the grace of sex is similar to the grace of feeding at the Eucharist, in that it teaches and reminds us that we need each other at the deepest levels to be whole.

My question is what difference have your words made in the Anglican Communion, and how much political weight do they carry? Is there a core message that we can all agree on here? Is the reminder of our interdependence clear enough in today's church? Or is sexuality really still something more associated with control than community?

Peace,
Tim
