Things starting to come together

For our first year in Seattle, I felt pretty crappy about where things were going from a career perspective--that is, I was working for a warehouse and trying to go through elementary steps towards ordination, which felt kind of like repeating kindergarten. Then I got a part time job in ministry, which was significantly better--surprisingly challenging and educational. Now though, I really feel like things are starting to get off the ground. Previously made investments are beginning to mature, and I'm getting more and more involved in areas of ministry that I care about. Part of that is because I've made good connections (some of which came through the warehouse), and part of it is because I've learned how to do ministry. It turns out that a Masters in Theology doesn't necessarily teach you much of practical applicability! Who knew, besides all those people who turned me down for jobs when I first got into town!
